BANNU: The tribesmen here on Tuesday refused to bury the body of an elder, who was shot dead on Monday, and placed the corpse outside the Janikhel Police Station as a mark of protest.
Unidentified gunmen killed an elder Malik Naseeb in Janikhel area in Bannu on Monday. The killing triggered protest from the local people.
They complained that the government did not honour the agreement reached with them after the killing of the four teenagers.
They said that the chief minister had signed the agreement and they had been assured that efforts would be made to end bloodshed in Janikhel, but they said that the pledges remained largely unfulfilled as the target killings were still taking place.
