Students must learn teamwork, handling defeat – Corona CEO

The Chief Executive Officer, Corona Schools’ Trust Council, Mrs Adeyoyin Adesina, has said teaching children about teamwork and how to handle defeat spirit will help them to develop excellent soft skills.
Adesina while speaking at the maiden virtual 2020 inter-schools quiz competition of the school said the idea of the competition was to put the students in a better position to succeed and acquire life skills.
She said, “The whole idea of introducing them to this kind of competition early in life is for them to realise that life is about competition and it is about winning. To win, you have to prepare, and to win you have to work as a team. So, we teach them teamwork very early and also teach them how to be gracious in victory and how to handle defeat and disappointment.” ....

How to save education from disruptions, pandemics, by experts

The coronavirus pandemic disrupted about 94 per cent of education world over, with nearly 1.6 billion people affected across all continents.
Recently, members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament converged on Lome, Togo for a meeting. Members were drawn from the Joint Committee on Education, Science and Technology; Telecommunication and Information Technology; Political Affairs, Peace and Security, as well as Infrastructure. They were saddled with the responsibility of charting a new course for the sub-region in handling pandemics with regards to education in West Africa.

Corona Schools' boss emphasises need to inculcate competitive spirit in children

THE Chief Executive Officer/ Member, Governing Board, Corona Schools’ Trust Council, Adedoyin Adesina, has emphasised the importance of exposing children early to academic competitions that will boost their soft skills, noting that such activities put them in a better position to succeed in their work life.
Adesina, while speaking at the maiden virtual 2020 Corona Schools inter-schools quiz competition held in Lagos, said the whole idea of the competition was to instill in the children the spirit of competition, adding that life is about competition and the earlier students learn to compete, the better.\
