Tullow Oil launches US$1.8bn bond offer as it aims to move out maturities
Tullow s debt pile stands at around US$2.4bn with just shy of US$1bn presently due in 2021 and 2022.
Tullow Oil PLC (LON:TLW) moved closer to a debt reset as it announced it is launching a US$1.8mln bond offer and has been given commitments for a US$600mln ‘super senior’ revolving credit facility.
The aim is to extend out maturities in its borrowing, using proceeds of the bond issue to repay reserves based lending and debt coming due later this year and in 2022.
Presently, Tullow has US$300mln of bonds with a 6.625% coupon due in July 2021, and, US$650mln of senior notes with a 6.25% coupon due in 2022. ....

On April 1, the U.S. Department of State for the first time announced it would formally recognize April as Arab American Heritage Month. Ned Price, spokesman for the State Department, noted that the contributions of Americans of Arab heritage to the nation are “as old as America itself.”
Though celebrated for years in many communities and schools, the federal government has yet to formally acknowledge the observance. On April 26, Michigan congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Debbie Dingell introduced the Arab American Heritage Month Resolution. The two were among a quartet of representatives who introduced a similar bill in April 2020. ....

Migrants at Sea Have Right To Aid - Pope Says


Pope Francis has said that Migrants at sea should never be denied aid.
The pontiff  made the remarks on Saturday while addressing  the faithful gathered in St Peter’s Square for the recitation of the Regina Coeli prayer.
Pope Francis turned his thoughts to the tragic loss of lives, once again, in the Mediterranean sea. We ought to be ashamed, said the Pope, remembering the 130 victims.
Pope Francis assured of his closeness to those people who “for two whole days begged in vain for help. Help that never came”.
They are people, said the Pope. Human lives. 
The Pope then asked that everyone question themselves “about this umpteenth tragedy”.  ....

Burundi's Major General Ndayirukiye Dies In Prison

Reliable sources have confirmed that Major General Cyrille Ndayirukiye, a Former Defence Minister in neighbouring Burundi has died in Prison.
The General has been languishing at Gitega prison where he had been detained since May 2015.
According to this witness, moments before his death, “He was hanging out some laundry he had just washed himself when he got dizzy. But he didn’t fall, a fellow prisoner was able to support him. “
“One side of his body was paralyzed. He won’t get up. He died between 3:30 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. He may have had “extreme anointing from a priest,” according to a reliable source. ....
