Arizona Chamber Executives: Stop the PRO Act

Washington, D.C. 20 515 The undersigned chambers of commerce congratulate you on and thank you for your continued leadership in supporting Arizona’s business community through out the pandemic. The purpose of this letter is to express our opposition to the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act. Should the PRO Act pass, t he consequences for Arizona’s employers and employees are very negative. Our organizations are strongly opposed to the PRO Act, and respectfully request that you do not support this legislation. The PRO Act will have extreme adverse impacts on Arizona’s employers and employees , as the legislation:

“Arizona businesses have innovated and adjusted for months to operate safely while prioritizing public health,” said Governor Ducey. “Today’s grant funding will bring additional support to small businesses impacted by the pandemic, keep our economy moving forward, and help protect public health and safety. I’m grateful to all chambers of commerce and businesses across the state that support our workforce and protect Arizonans.” Gov. Ducey launched the Chamber of Commerce COVID-19 Response Grant Program last November. The program is funded through the state’s Crisis Contingency and Safety Net Fund, which was established in March through a bipartisan state budget agreement that allocated an additional $50 million for Arizona’s COVID-19 response.

The grant dollars come from the Chamber of Commerce COVID-19 Response Grant Program, established last month by Governor Ducey.  “Arizona businesses have innovated and adjusted for months to operate safely while prioritizing public health,” said Governor Ducey. “Today’s grant funding will bring additional support to small businesses impacted by the pandemic, keep our economy moving forward, and help protect public health and safety.
