Today at 3:30pm Stephen A. Inge, employee and son of the co-owner of the now-shuttered Iota Club, died earlier this month at the age of 41. He battled for decades a very rare condition known as Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) syndrome, which causes tumors to grow throughout the body. In his memory, there will be an outdoor gathering at Knights of Columbus on Little Falls Road this Saturday, May 15 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the VHL Alliance. Inge was the son of Jane Negrey Inge, who co-owned (with her brother) the well-known Arlington music and arts performance venue Iota Club. The club closed in 2017 after more than two decades at 2832 Wilson Blvd in Clarendon. ....
FAIRFIELD, New Jersey (WABC) New video shows a random attack at a gas station in New Jersey. It happened Sunday at 6:26 a.m. at a Quick Check convenience store at Passaic Avenue and Little Falls Road in Fairfield. Police say the attacker, Christopher Sanchez, 35, kicked a car and yelled at the driver. The video shows him throw the 67-year-old attendant to the ground and run away. As police tended to the victim, witnesses at the scene spotted the suspects vehicle driving past and pointed it out to officers. After a brief chase, police pulled the driver, Antonio Lopis, 34, over and took him into custody in Little Falls. ....
Michael F. Thomson, arrested The Arlington County Police Department’s Cold Case Unit is announced the arrest of a suspect in a cold case rape series. Michael F. Thomson, 63, of Montross, Va., was arrested and charged with two counts of the following charges: Rape, Abduction with the Intent to Defile, Forcible Sodomy and Use/Display of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. Additional charges are anticipated. He is being held in the Arlington County Detention Facility without bond. Between January and December 1991, Arlington County Police investigated multiple reports of rapes and attempted rapes involving female victims walking from the East Falls Church Metro Station. In each reported incident, the victims were approached by an unknown male who displayed a firearm. Three cases were linked by DNA evidence with a fourth case being investigated as part of the series due to similarities with the other cases. ....
