YVR arrivals may be walking, opting for fines over hotel quarantine

Article content Federal health officials say they’re aware of an air traveller boasting on social media about leaving Toronto’s airport without complying with the three-day mandatory hotel quarantine, but it’s not known whether it’s happening in Vancouver. “The Public Health Agency of Canada is aware of the situation and is looking into the incident,” said spokesman Andre Gagnon in an email in response to a request about individuals choosing not to comply with new federal rules to quarantine at their own expense for up to $2,000 and instead receiving a ticket.
