Dr. Bonnie Henry reported 1,330 new cases of Covid-19 in BC between Saturday and yesterday… that’s 145 less than a week ago. There were 257 in Interior Health… that’s 40 MORE than a week ago. She also reported an additional 31 deaths from the virus over that period, which included 4 in the Interior. As for vaccines, Dr. Henry said there have been 87,346 inoculations so far in the province and another 26,700 doses are expected to arrive this week.
We received a few more details from the Provincial Health Officer yesterday on the Pfizer vaccine shortage that is expected in the next few weeks. Dr. Bonnie Henry says they are anticipating 60-thousand fewer doses than originally expected, so a higher proportion will be going to second doses, as those who have already received their first, come due for their booster. She says there will be increased shipments in March. ....

Kelowna Council issued a development permit for a project that includes three towers at the corner of Leon and Water Streets by City Park. They will be 24, 28 and 42 storeys tall. The project includes 650 residential units, office space, a 5-storey parking area and a pedestrian overpass connecting the towers.
There were four additional deaths in long-term care homes in the Interior Health Region yesterday from covid-19. Three were in Oliver and one was in Vernon bringing the total since the pandemic began to 44. As for new cases, there were 84 in Interior Health which were part of 519 in all of BC. There have been just over 59-thousand cases of the virus in the province. ....
