MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WMBF) - Tidelands Health says many of its employees had to travel to several stations to find gas on their way to work due to the regional gas shortage.
Fortunately, officials say there is a contingency plan in place for situations just like this.
“When these things happen, we all realize how dependent we are on deliveries and transports and things like that,” said Gayle Resetar, Chief Operating Officer for Tidelands Health. ....

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WMBF) - More than 1.7 million South Carolinians have at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Department of Health and Environmental Control’s vaccine dashboard.
But, as the state continues to forge ahead against the pandemic, some Grand Strand hospitals said vaccine demand has slowed down a lot.
The staff at Tidelands Health said they’re doing fewer vaccinations each week because of the lack of demand. ....

Millions of Americans are not getting the second doses of their Covid-19 vaccines, and their ranks are growing.
More than 5 million people, or nearly 8 per cent of those who got a first shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, have missed their second doses, according to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That is more than double the rate among people who got inoculated in the first several weeks of the nationwide vaccine campaign.
