MEMPHIS, Tenn. The Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) announced Wednesday that the Main Street Trolley rail line will now extend to G.E. Patterson when service to the new Central Station trolley station – located in the heart of the South Main Historic Arts District in front of the Central Station Hotel – begins on Sunday, Feb. 28.
The opening of the Central Station trolley station marks the completion of the Central Station Phase II Redevelopment Project, which transformed the historic railroad station and multi-acre site into an area that now features Central Station Hotel, Malco Powerhouse Cinema Grill & MXT and the Memphis Farmers Market. ....

New on-demand public transit service in Downtown Memphis

Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA), the Downtown Memphis Commission, and the Memphis Medical District Collaborative will launch Groove On-Demand, a dynamically-routed on-demand public transit service on February 10. In partnership with Via, the leader in TransitTech, Groove On-Demand will expand access to affordable, efficient, and convenient public transit for all riders in the greater Downtown Memphis area, including the Medical District and New Chicago.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - MATA has reported that at least a dozen employees tested positive for COVID-19 this week, with more having tested positive in the last month.
