Linda A. Hoblitzell, 80, of Parkersburg, died on March 31, 2021, peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. Born in La Crosse, Wisconsin she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar William Gaarder. Raised in Madison, Wisconsin, she graduated from Madison West High School in 1958 then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and went on to receive her BS in Elementary Education from West Virginia University.
She is survived by her loving husband (Paul C. “Hob” Hoblitzell III) of 60 years, 3 children Paul C. “Hobby” Hoblitzell IV (Alexis), Mildred “Missy” Byrne (Andy), and Jodeen Tebay (Harry). She is also survived by her 4 siblings Tom Gaarder (Rhoda), David Gaarder (Diana), Karen Gross, and Nancy Yost; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Mr. and Mrs. Paul C. Hoblitzell, Jr. (in-laws), Gary Gross (Brother-in-law), and Jen Trieloff (nephew). ....

Christyn Williams scored 22 points as the Huskies breezed to their eighth straight win.
“Going into the end of February and early March, we’re obviously playing a little bit differently than earlier,” Auriemma said. “Defensively, we’re better. Offensively, we’re in a better flow. Maintaining that isn’t always the easiest thing to do.”
Williams has scored at least 16 points in each of her last three games after going scoreless against Seton Hall on February 10.
“I’m just in a good space mentally,” the junior guard said. “I just had a bump in the road. There was a lot going on. I had a little bit of an ankle problem, too. The ankle is better. I’m just trying to keep the momentum going forward.” ....

More people die from cancer than from almost any other causes in the world. Yale School of Public Health researchers are working together to change that.
From key partnerships with the Yale Cancer Center (YCC) to novel research efforts across New Haven and Connecticut, as well as globally, Yale scientists have already made significant steps toward preventing and treating a wide range of cancers. Their interdisciplinary fight against cancer has enlisted some of the most prominent public health scholars in the nation and involves dozens of research teams that investigate nearly every aspect of the cancer epidemic, including risk factors and social determinants of health. ....
