A dispute between two security guards in West Nashville landed one in the hospital and the other in jail late Thursday night, Metro police said. The Metro Nashville Police Department reported Christopher Hill, 37, and Gary Ellis, 65, got into an argument at the 5800 block of Centennial Boulevard. Hill then drove away, but returned shortly after. Metro Police said a witness overheard Ellis tell Hill if he returned he would shoot him. When Hill returned, Ellis shot him with a shotgun containing birdshot, which is a smaller kind of shotgun shell. The shooting resulted in non-life threatening injuries to Hill s shoulder and neck. ....

According to court papers, an on-call person was called into the business at 5800 Centennial Boulevard around 10:15 p.m. for a security guard who was locked inside the gate of his business while in his car. Officials say the security guard then got into an argument with the on-call person and the on-duty security guard, 65-year-old Gary Ellis. The on-call person reportedly told the security guard to leave the property and as he was leaving, arrest papers say Lewis said he would shoot him if he came back. ....
