Nashville Tennessean In the final days of the legislative session, Republicans in the Tennessee House are reopening an education committee to rein in what public schools will be allowed to teach on the topics of racism and inequality. Members of the House education administration committee which had previously closed for the year will return Monday morning to amend legislation with still unreleased language intended to prohibit schools from teaching lessons about systemic racism, among other topics touching on race and sex. The effort, spearheaded in part by Rep. John Ragan, R-Oak Ridge, comes as conservative activists nationwide have increasingly sounded the alarm about ideas aligned with critical race theory being taught in both primary schools and higher education institutions. ....

Jay Reedy and co-sponsored by 16 other House members aims to prohibit governments from mandating vaccines and medical treatment for citizens. The bill responds to concerns supercharged by COVID-19 that government agencies may force citizens to accept medical care against their conscience. Bill Lee and executive orders heâs issued since the pandemic. Attorney Bryant Kroll of The Blackburn Law Firm represents the transpotainment industry and Gary Humble as plaintiffs in their respective lawsuits. Humble also serves as the executive director for Tennessee Stands. A nonprofit social advocacy organization, working to protect the individual liberty of all Tennesseans. On Friday, Kroll defended Humbleâs lawsuit which he first introduced this past August. Each lawsuit argues that Gov. Leeâs executive orders made it possible for county governments to in effect write laws such as a mask mandate. ....
