Christopher Plummer, the acclaimed actor who took on Captain von Trapp s role in the film The Sound of Music, has died at 91 years old.
Plummer died on Friday morning at his Connecticut home with wife Elaine Taylor by his side, according to Lou Pitt, his manager and longtime friend.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The entertainment world was mourning the loss of a legend today with the death of Christopher Plummer, the Oscar-winning actor who graced stage and screen for seven decades, but is best remembered for portraying Captain Von Trapp in “The Sound of Music.
Plummer, 91, died peacefully Friday morning at his home in Connecticut, with his wife Elaine Taylor at his side, according to his management team.
