Santa Monica, California-based ad intelligence company Pathmatics is expanding to Australia and New Zealand, appointing Eugene Du Plessis to lead the new division as Regional Director.
Pathmatics, formed in 2011 and acquired last month by mobile app market intelligence and insights provider Sensor Tower, provides users with data on how their competitors are spending on ads across digital, video, display and mobile, as well as Facebook advertising intelligence. Its flagship Explorer platform was previously offered in the region via a partnership with Nielsen, but has not been available direct until now.
Du Plessis joins from Nielsen Australia, where he has spent the last six years in roles including Commercial Director. Pathmatics social tracking now reports on Facebook advertising in 11 countries around the globe, also including the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the UK, Spain, France, Italy and Germany. ....

Tableau augments analytics
Tableau has taken the wrappers off several new and expanded augmented analytics features across its data visualisation and reporting platform.
Among the latest features is ‘ask data’, which allows people across roles to answer business questions using natural language. This tool has also been extended to Salesforce, allowing Salesforce users to ask any question in Tableau CRM using natural language and semantic search and gain answers in the form of insights, generated reports and recommended dashboards tailored to business context. ....

Marketing intelligence platform Pathmatics launches locally with Nielsen talent

Digital marketing intelligence platform Pathmatics, which counts Nestle, MediaCom, Target and Reddit among its clients, is expanding into Australia and New Zealand.
Pathmatics will be led locally by regional director Eugene Du Plessis, who joins from Nielsen where he was commercial director, with a remit to grow the company’s local presence.
The company, which launched in 2011, offers brands and marketers ad spend insights across cross digital, video, display and mobile (e.g. Facebook and Google), and allows them to keep an eye on competitor ad spend as well.
The expansion represents the first time that Pathmatics, including its Facebook advertising intelligence, will be available direct to brands in Australia, following a previous alliance with Nielsen. ....

Brands, publishers, and agencies based in Australia and New Zealand will now have access to digital advertising insights to study how their competitors spend ads. Pathmatics also revealed that the top ad spenders in the region are Proctor & Gamble, Hungry Jack’s, SingTel, and Optus.
