In connection with the acquisition, Fidelity Life will enter into a 15-year strategic alliance with Westpac NZ and will be the exclusive distributor of life insurance to Westpac s retail customers. The transaction involves equity funding arrangements with Fidelity Life s largest shareholder the NZ Super Fund and new investor Ngāi Tahu Holdings. Charlie Craft and Shelby Abernathy displayed that quality in winning the 2021 Alabama Vex IQ Robot Skills Challenge Championship, and earning a berth in the Remote World Tournament later this month. While students at Duck Springs Elementary, they joined the school’s Robotics Club in 2018 and along with teammates Tanner Harris, and Gabby Smith, won the 2019 Vex IQ Alabama State Elementary Robot Teamwork Challenge. Fast forward to 2020-21. Charlie (Etowah Middle) and Shelby (Sardis Middle) moved to different schools. Etowah Middle had to suspend its competitive robotics program because of COVID-19 considerations; Sardis Middle doesn’t have a program. ....
A 24 year old University of Kentucky medical student has died following a hiking accident at Red River Gorge. Gabby Smith went for a hike in the Gorge on the Auxier Ridge area, but didn’t return home after. Her family reported her missing to police who were able to use her cellphone coordinates to find her location. Powell County Search and Rescue found that Smith had fallen off of a 150 foot cliff to her death. The Search and Rescue crews have warned hikers of the Gorge to be wary of the cliffs, and stay several feet away from the cliffs at all time. ....
University of Kentucky student who died after a fall while hiking has been identified Sarah Brookbank, Cincinnati Enquirer Search and rescue officials at Red River Gorge said a University of Kentucky student was found dead after a fall. That student has been identified as, Gabriella Smith, a native of Alexandria, according to information provided by the university Wednesday afternoon to the Enquirer. Red River Gorge Geological Area, a popular area of the Daniel Boone National Forest frequented by hikers and campers is located in Slade, Kentucky. University of Kentucky College of Medicine Dean, Robert DiPaola, has released a statement.
