Former City Arts Centre hits the market at €35m

Having lain dormant since its sale to a consortium of developers including Paddy Kelly and the McCormack family’s investment vehicle Alanis Capital in 2003, the former City Arts Centre on Dublin’s City Quay is being offered to the market once again.
While little has happened with the property itself in the 18 years since it changed hands for €4.2 million, the area surrounding the building and the 0.22 hectare (0.55 acre) plot it sits on has been transformed to the point where 1-6 City Quay is the last remaining waterfront development site in Dublin’s docklands.
That distinction is reflected in the €35 million now being sought by agent Savills on behalf of the receiver, Ken Tyrell of PWC. ....

Dragons' Den star Ramona Nicholas wants exit deal from Cara pharmacy group kept secret

Dragons’ Den star Ramona Nicholas and her husband Canice are seeking to keep secret the terms of an agreement that will see them leave the Cara pharmacy group.
A survival scheme for the struggling business was approved by the High Court yesterday after new investors were found. This will safeguard 150 jobs and lead to €14m being invested.
But the couple, who established the Cara chain in 2002, will be exiting the business after negotiating an employment termination agreement with investors Renrew Ltd.
It emerged in court yesterday they do not want the details of the agreement disclosed.
The group went into examinership last September following an application from main creditors Elm Corporate Credit. The court heard at the time the business had been loss-making every year since 2016 and was insolvent. ....
