Having lain dormant since its sale to a consortium of developers including Paddy Kelly and the McCormack familyâs investment vehicle Alanis Capital in 2003, the former City Arts Centre on Dublinâs City Quay is being offered to the market once again. While little has happened with the property itself in the 18 years since it changed hands for â¬4.2 million, the area surrounding the building and the 0.22 hectare (0.55 acre) plot it sits on has been transformed to the point where 1-6 City Quay is the last remaining waterfront development site in Dublinâs docklands. That distinction is reflected in the â¬35 million now being sought by agent Savills on behalf of the receiver, Ken Tyrell of PWC. ....
Dragons’ Den star Ramona Nicholas and her husband Canice are seeking to keep secret the terms of an agreement that will see them leave the Cara pharmacy group. A survival scheme for the struggling business was approved by the High Court yesterday after new investors were found. This will safeguard 150 jobs and lead to €14m being invested. But the couple, who established the Cara chain in 2002, will be exiting the business after negotiating an employment termination agreement with investors Renrew Ltd. It emerged in court yesterday they do not want the details of the agreement disclosed. The group went into examinership last September following an application from main creditors Elm Corporate Credit. The court heard at the time the business had been loss-making every year since 2016 and was insolvent. ....

The High Court will approve a survival scheme for the Cara group of pharmacies in the New Year if the examiner can provide a full picture of the company s situation. Mr Justice Denis McDonald indicated on Friday that the court would approve an examiner s scheme of arrangement for the group, if examiner Ken Tyrell can produce a supplemental report adding to a proposal for restructuring and new investment. The group, whose controlling shareholders are former RTE Dragons Den presenter Ramona Nicholas and her husband Canice Nicholas, has 13 stores and 141 employees. It suffered pre-tax losses of €4.6m between 2016 and 2019 and the main creditor, Elm Corporate Credit, is owed €14m. ....
