Medicine Hat Kiwanis Club 50/50 raffle will support the Regional Science Fair Poll Yes The Medicine Hat Kiwanis Club is selling tickets for its online 50/50 cash raffle in support of the Kiwanis Regional Science Fair. The winning ticket can win a grand prize of $5,000 or a minimum of $2,000. The 2021 science fair is over, which included Debasri Jena, a Grade 10 student at Medicine Hat High School, winning with her dehydration sensor project where she took extracts from different fruits and vegetables. Jena took part in the virtual national science fair this week, which would normally take place in Ottawa. Barry Finkelman, a Kiwanis club member, says the success students in the Hat have at science fairs shows the importance of supporting them. ....
Another couple of COVID cases announced at local public schools Poll Yes, this is enough The Medicine Hat Public School Division announced on Monday night two additional COVID-19 cases at its schools. Alberta Health Services identified the new cases at Ken Sauer School and Crestwood School. Ken Sauer now has two active cases connected with the school and the new case at Crestwood School is its only current active case. All close contacts have been identified and started their quarantine. Both schools remain open to all unaffected students and staff. “We are confident based on AHS guidance, that those who have not been directed to quarantine can attend school safely,” says a release on the division’s website. ....
Public school division adds more to the COVID-positive list Poll Montreal Canadiens The Medicine Hat Public School Division announced cases of COVID-19 at three schools throughout the weekend and Monday morning. There were two cases identified at River Heights School, which puts the school at four active cases. The MHPSD’s release on its website says the school will remain open to those not listed as a close contact or told to quarantine. “We are confident based on AHS guidance, that those who have not been directed to quarantine can attend school safely,” says the release. On Sunday, MHPSD said a positive case of the virus was connected to Ken Sauer School. The school is remaining open and all close contacts have been identified and quarantined. ....
