“Rumors”
The Bay Street Players in Eustis present the Neil Simon farce, “Rumors,” opening Friday and playing until April 18 at the Historic State Theatre.
The play takes place at a large, tastefully-appointed Sneden’s Landing townhouse where the deputy mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of farce as they are gathering for the 10th wedding anniversary of the host, who lies bleeding in the other room, and his wife, who is nowhere in sight. His lawyer, Ken, and wife, Chris, must get the story straight ....

How Vanilla Coke Led to David Anderson's Bust for Sylvia Quayle Murder

Quayle, 35, was found murdered in her Cherry Hills home on August 4, 1981. She was nude and had been strangled, stabbed and shot.
From there, progress in the inquiry was made at an agonizingly slow pace. As noted in a February 25 press conference about the Anderson bust, investigators collected 140 pieces of evidence, and two years later, testing of an area rug revealed so-called foreign material of the sort that might offer opportunities for DNA testing. But it took until 1995 for the rug to be sent to the Colorado Bureau of Investigations for analysis, and another five years after that for a DNA profile to be developed. ....

Just 19 Denver Cold Case Murders Solved in 50 Years

Last week marked fourteen years since the unsolved killing of Ken Gorman, a hero in the marijuana-reform movement  and it s hardly the only Mile High murder that has not yet led to an arrest. Indeed, it s incredibly rare for justice to be done on behalf of Denver victims of the ultimate crime, as well as their friends, family and loved ones, years or even decades after the fact.
Proof can be found on the portion of the Denver Police Department website devoted to cold-case homicides.  The page includes murders dating back to 1970, more than fifty years ago. Of the 767 listed, only nineteen are designated as solved, while 748 are categorized as unsolved. An investigation is typically dubbed a cold case if it remains unsolved for three years or more. ....

Power Wellness Safely Surpasses 1 Million Medical Fitness Center Visits

Power Wellness Safely Surpasses 1 Million Medical Fitness Center Visits
Lombard, IL, December 23, 2020 (PR.com) Collectively across 29 locations nationwide, Power Wellness has managed over 1 million visits since reopening their first client’s location in May 2020. As a result of strictly enforced safety protocols, the reported COVID-19 positive reports from staff and members have been below 0.05%, and generally identified as arising from external contacts. On-going independent research is demonstrably indicating that fitness centers are less likely to spread COVID-19 than other retail service industries:
- “While data are still emerging, this particular study does not support the assertion that fitness centers are a high-risk location for COVID-19 spread. In fact, this study found no statistically significant relationship between a COVID-19 test result and reported visits to a fitness center.”(1) ....
