Hours after news broke that his main recruiter, Kenya Hunter, will be retained by new Indiana head coach Mike Woodson, the IU guard announced that he has removed his name from the NCAA Transfer Portal. “IU gave me a home when I needed it the most after the passing of my father,” Stewart wrote in a message posted to Twitter. “and I look forward to staying and putting on my jersey at this prestigious university. Go Hoosiers!” Stewart’s stay in the portal lasted only one week, with Hunter’s decision to remain in Bloomington surely a major factor in the guard’s final call. His transfer from UT-Martin in December came weeks after his father, Anthony the former UT-Martin coach died unexpectedly on Nov. 15. In explaining his reasons for picking IU, Stewart cited Hunter, a longtime family friend, as a major reason why he felt comfortable in Bloomington. ....
