Newly hired Troy Public Library Director Emily Dumas, who began her role Feb. 22, said the transition was a bit of a homecoming for her. The former Royal Oak Library director decided to leave the library where she began her career in 2009 and accept an offer to lead in Troy because of the connection she has with the library, she said. ....
Cathleen Russ has been named the new director of the West Bloomfield Township Public Library. Russ served as Troy Public Library director for 13 years. She assumed leadership of the West Bloomfield library Dec. 14. Russ was named Michigan Library Associationâs Librarian of the Year in 2019. Earlier this year, Russ worked with MLA colleagues across the state to develop universal safety and process standards to guide libraries as they reopened after closures due to COVID-19.
