Penarth woman secures support to expand business idea inspired by mum s cancer battle
A PENARTH woman has secured a place on a new programme designed to help people overcome the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic after starting her own business inspired by her mother. 
24-year-old Catherine Williams beat entrepreneurs from across Wales to secure a place on the Excelerator Programme, which will see 23 people from under-represented groups take part in a Welsh Government-funded 12-week immersive accelerator programme.
The aim is to help them launch and grow their business idea or scale an existing business.
Ms Williams is the founder of O’Honni, a luxurious lingerie brand for women who have had mastectomies and lumpectomies as part of breast cancer treatment. ....

It's Official: DeLeo Leaves as Speaker of House – Winthrop Transcript


Robert A. DeLeo of Winthrop, who was elected to the House of Representatives in 1990 and went on to serve as Speaker of the House for 12 years, delivered his farewell address in the House Chambers at the Statehouse in Boston Tuesday afternoon.
The speech marked the end of a legendary political career for Winthrop’s favorite son who served as a Winthrop Town Meeting member and a member of the Board of Selectmen before running successfully for a Winthrop-Revere seat in the House.
Seventy-year-old Massachusetts House Speaker Robert DeLeo, who served for nearly 30 years in the House, and a dozen as Speaker, delivered his farewell remarks on December 29, at the House of Representatives Chamber at the State House . ....

Governor’s abortion amendments (H 5179)
The House, 49 to 107, and the Senate, 8 to 32, rejected Gov. Charlie Baker’s amendments to a section of the state budget approved by the House and Senate that changes some of the abortion laws in the state. The section lowers the age from the current 18 to 16 at which a minor can choose to have an abortion without parental or judicial consent. Baker’s amendment would bring the age back to 18. ....
