Of Dene and European ancestry, the work of the multidisciplinary artist is on view currently in New Age Warriors. Part dialogue, part studio visit, the discussion will explore her futuristic regalia and photographs that blend traditional materials and methods with elements of couture, hip-hop expression and cosplay aesthetics, as well as her current work. 5 Native American/First Nations artists chosen for Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowship


INDIANAPOLIS – Five Native American and First Nations artists have been selected for the 2021 Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowships.
Innovative paintings, prints, mixed media and installations by the artists will be on exhibit at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art beginning in November 2021.
Each artist receives a $25,000 unrestricted grant, and the museum expects to purchase more than $100,000 of their artworks to add to its collection of contemporary Native American art, considered one of the best such collections in the world.

The five artists chosen for the 2021 round of the Eiteljorg Fellowship are: 
• Anita Fields (Osage), of Stillwater, Oklahoma, who is nationally recognized for her ceramic art and mixed media works. One of her ceramic pieces, “Opposites Attract,” is on view in the exhibition, “Powerful Women: Contemporary Art from the Eiteljorg Collection.” ....

Vancouver-based brand Smash + Tess continues to, well, smash it with collabs. This time, it has teamed up with actress and entrepreneur Hilary Duff to create a range of chilled-out rompers and takes on the brand’s best-selling Romperalls. “One of the best parts about this project for me was that everyone who was involved were women,” Duff said in a press release about the collection, which launches February 23. “We all have different things going on in our lives, different bodies, different wants and needs, but we all sat down and collaborated on everything from the colours, fabrics, fits…it was really fun.” ....
