A mere four days after 49-year-old Ava Thelwell drove her car off Flat Bridge into the Rio Cobre and drowned, another woman died in the waterway yesterday after the passenger bus in which she was travelling crashed with a motor car in the treacherous Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine.
The crash, which resulted in a traffic snarl, occurred close to the centuries-old barrier-less Flat Bridge which spans the Rio Cobre and where many lives have been lost over the years. ....
February 17, 2021 at 11:42 AM PATERSON, NJ - Paterson narcotics detectives recovered more than 6,600 glassines of heroin and a loaded weapon from a Kent Village apartment Tuesday. The operation, which also yielded nearly $33,000 in suspected drug proceeds, also led to three arrests. According to a statement by Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale, an investigation into the illegal narcotics sales began in January following complaints from concerned residents in the area. Surveillance undertaken as part of the investigation in early February led to the discovery of a suspected drug dealer, later identified as Thomas William, participating in drug transactions with various buyers, including on Tuesday when he is said to have engaged in a hand-to-hand transaction with Kevin G.
