Lake Erie ice fishing access available at Camp Perry

Ice fishermen have been focused on the bluegills and yellow perch in East Harbor on the Marblehead Peninsula for a couple of weeks. The top area is off the park kayak launch (above). With an Arctic blast thickening the ice on Lake Erie off the Catawba Peninsula and Camp Perry, the walleye fishing is expected to begin to draw crowds this week. (Photo by D’Arcy Patrick Egan)
Anglers looking for an access point to Lake Erie for ice fishing are encouraged to visit Camp Perry just west of Port Clinton, according to the Ohio Division of Wildlife. Ice fishing access at Camp Perry opened on Tuesday, Feb. 16. ....
