Netflix selects UK doc funding winners
Global streamer Netflix has named the 10 aspiring filmmakers from around the UK who have won funding as part of its inaugural Documentary Talent Fund.

The creatives will receive up to £40,000 (US$56,000) in financing to create their own documentary short film of between eight and 12 minutes long to the brief Britain’s Not Boring and Here’s a Story.
The winners, who were selected by a judging panel including SB.TV founder Jamal Edwards, director of original documentaries commissioning at Netflix Kate Townsend and Little By Little Films founder Lindsey Dryden.

Twin Lakes rallies in final seconds to beat Peru, 59-55, for sectional championship

Twin Lakes (21-4), for the 13th consecutive time since the 2000-01 season, defeated Peru, 59-55, Saturday night to win the Class 3A Sectional 20 championship.
âWe havenât been in a sectional championship game in 10 years, but hopefully we get a new venue because Iâm tired of this place and playing Twin Lakes,â Peru head coach Eric Thompson said.
The Tigers (16-8) led 55-51 after senior Kade Townsend scored with 1:20 left in the fourth quarter. After Lewis Dellinger hit one of two free throws to cut the deficit to 55-52, Tiger senior Treyden Curtis missed the front end of a one-and-one with 57 seconds left. ....

KU students to present at Kansas Undergraduate Research Days

LAWRENCE – Students from each of the Kansas Board of Regents four-year public universities will share work during Kansas’ Undergraduate Research Days. The 2021 event will take place online March 2-4.
Ten University of Kansas students will share their work during the free event, which is hosted this year by Fort Hays State University.
“This event is a chance for our students to highlight the undergraduate research opportunities they have had as a result of their studies at the University of Kansas, as well as how this work enhances their own education while also improving the lives of Kansans. Although it is sad that we cannot meet in the Capitol, this virtual event should make it easier for more people to see the wonderful work being done by undergraduate students at KU and across the state,” said Alison Olcott, director of the Center for Undergraduate Research. ....
