The season 17 winner of ‘The Voice’ talent competition TV show will be the headlining musical act at this year’s Trigg County Country Ham Festival.
Texas native Jake Hoot will take to the main stage on Saturday, October 9 with the venue site still in the planning stage.
During its Tuesday meeting, the ham festival committee heard a report from talent and entertainment chair Brooke Bailey Abner. She said a combination of funds given to the festival by the Cadiz-Trigg County Tourism Commission and local sponsorships allowed them to book Hoot as the headlining act.
Hoot was named the winner of the 17th season of The Voice in December 2019. His coach was Kelly Clarkson, with who he teamed to release the song “I Would Have Loved You” earlier this year.

Lots of flour, lots and lots of flour, makes anywhere from 12 to 16 pans of dough.
The dough is enough for a 10 1/2-foot wide ham biscuit â the worldâs largest. It takes a forklift truck to put this biscuit in the oven.
âWe cut it into squares,â noted Gary Rocca, one of the directors of Helping Hands, which every year makes the oversized biscuit for the annual Trigg County Country Ham Festival.
âWe slice it down the middle and put a piece of country ham in there,â Rocca continued of one of the highlights of the ham festival.
Absent for a year because of the coronavirus, the ham festival is returning in 2021, slated for Oct. 8-9 in downtown Cadiz, and the ham biscuit is returning with it.
