The approval means the club is a step closer to constructing a state of the art training centre at its waterfront site, with plans for a two-storey extension to the existing clubhouse, incorporating classrooms, engineering workshops, and a lecture theatre. ANNAPOLIS â Get ready for an insect phenomenon seen every 17 years. Experts from the Maryland Department of Agriculture and University of Delaware Cooperative Extension say the magicicada septendecim is only seen for a few weeks every 17 years and it starts in May. âDepending on how warm it gets is how soon weâll see them,â said Gaye Williams, an MDA entomologist. And when they do emerge, itâs going to be epic. âThere will be hundreds of thousands, if not millions,â she said of the insect, which most will remember from the carpet of crunchy shells left behind in years past. ....

Those noisy, swarming bugs are expected to surface from their underground homes of 17 years as soon as it gets a little warmer. The cicadas should make an appearance as soon as ground temperatures reach around 64 degrees. Montgomery County residents probably can already notice in the ground where these insects will emerge within the next few weeks, probably between mid-May to early June.
