Clinics Geared To First Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine, Relaxing Self-Isolation Rules For The Vaccinated

Once you are two weeks past your second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, if you are named as a close contact of someone who has tested positive for the virus, and you remain asymptomatic, you won’t have to isolate. Health Minister Paul Merriman says the level of protection provided by the two doses of vaccine is why the government can announce this new guideline.
If you have symptoms though, you will have to self-isolate and be tested. Anyone who is unvaccinated or has only had one vaccine, must still self-isolated if they are named as a close contact. ....

Vaccines, grad preparations, facilities discussed at Living Sky board


Vickers told the trustees that their Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction Cathy Herrick was attending a health meeting that day at which time it was expected more information would be shared about the plan.
As well, Vickers provided an update on graduation guidelines. The guidelines had come out last week from the province and in her written report Vickers indicated the guidelines are still tight, including recommendations for virtual or live streamed events, or alternatively either drive-in or outdoor ceremonies.
Vickers expected that her hunch was that they would hear on May 17 that more students and family members will be allowed to join the ceremony if it is outside. ....

Canadian clean energy company Proton Technologies Canada is announcing a crowdfunding campaign that accelerates the launch of its potentially revolutionary clean hydrogen business while providing a way for everyday people to invest early in its business.

The crowdfunding campaign, called “Clear Hydrogen; Clear Conscience,” sees Proton Technologies Canada partnering with environmentally focused crowdfunding platform, Wayblaze, to help raise $500,000 in two rounds. Funds will be used to obtain hydrogen tube-trailers for storage and transportation and to construct a loading terminal at Proton’s site near Kerrobert, Saskatchewan. ....

Jeremy Welter farms near Kerrobert, growing wheat, canola, barley, lentils, and camelina, but cold temperatures mean Welter hasn’t been able to start seeding this year.
“You don t want to put the seed into the ground when it s too cold, you don t want to germinate too early,” he said. “There s always frost concerns. In the last number of years, I mean we ve seen frost events that have caused a need for reseeding.”
The other issue farmers in the province are facing as the growing season begins is a lack of moisture.
“It is quite dry out there right now,” said crops extension specialist Matt Struthers. “Going into the latter half of May especially, or the beginning of June, we re going to need some timely rains.” ....
