(WAFB) - Kenneth Gleasonâs red Ford Focus became the center point of the double murder trial against him. Detective testimony repeatedly through the trial referenced a red car seen driving away from both crime scenes. Lead prosecutor Dana Cummings began tying that car to Gleason on Tuesday, April 20, showing the jury surveillance video from the parking lot of Custom Security, which showed a red Ford Focus pull-in. ....

Two of the shootings proved to be deadly, and the men killed have been identified as 49-year-old Donald Smart and 59-year-old Bruce Cofield. Though Gleason has not been charged with a hate crime, local authorities feel all three acts of violence he s been tied to were racially motivated. Jacques Landry, the owner of the now-defunct Posh Chic hair salon near the corner of N. Acadian and Florida pointed at Kenneth Gleason and said the gunman who killed Cofield looked nothing like him. It was a bizarre twist on a day in which prosecutors laid the groundwork for their case against Gleason. Gleason is charged with two counts of first degree murder for the killings of Cofield and Donald Smart. ....
