TALLAHASSEE, Fla. â COVID-19 vaccinations are precious, but Florida has wasted thousands of shots to date. To some, it s unfortunate but expected. Others are challenging the state to do better.
As of Feb. 9, Florida Health reported at least 4,143 shots had been squandered across the state. Officials said in a statement that most were broken either in transit or during use. Other doses spoiled before injection.

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. â Health officials in Ottawa County have received replacement vaccines after learning around 1,600 of their doses were potentially spoiled.
21 shipments of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine had their temperature go out of range and get too cold, spoiling the vaccine, after being shipped out on Sunday, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).
Wisconsin pharmacist arrested for intentionally spoiling coronavirus vaccine

GRAFTON â Grafton Police have arrested the Aurora Health Care pharmacist who intentionally spoiled more than 500 doses of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine on Thursday, officials said.
He has been arrested on charges of first degree recklessly endangering safety, adulterating a prescription drug, and criminal damage to property. He is currently held at the Ozaukee County jail. The identity of the pharmacist is being withheld at this time.
The value of the spoiled vaccines is estimated to be around $8,000 to $11,000, police said.
Last week, an Advocate Aurora Health employee intentionally removed 57 vials of the Moderna vaccine from refrigeration. It spoiled over 500 doses of the vaccine.
