On the first day of the Session, May 21, all the 126 newly-elected MLAs will be administered the oath of secrecy

Guwahati: The first sitting of the 15th Assam Legislative Assembly would begin on Friday, May 21. The session summoned by Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi would be for three days.
On the first day of the session, all the newly elected 126 MLAs will be administered the oath of secrecy.
On the second day, May 22, the Governor would address the Assembly and on May 24, the concluding day of the three-day Assembly session, a motion of thanks for Governor s speech has been scheduled. May 23 is Sunday therefore there will be no sitting of the Assembly.

Guwahati: The members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in a meeting on Thursday selected BJP MLA Biswajit Daimary to be the next Speaker and Numal Momin as the Deputy Speaker for the 15th Assam Legislative Assembly, the first session of which will begin on Friday.
According to the reports, Daimary submitted his nomination paper for the post of the Speaker of the Assam assembly and Momin submitted his papers for the Deputy Speaker s post. Daimary filed his nomination in presence of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP state president Ranjeet Kumar Dass.

Guwahati: The Personnel (Administration) Department of the Assam Government on Wednesday carried out another round of major reshuffle of IAS officers of the state. Among the 20 changes done, some have been given additional charges while some have been relieved of additional duties and some have been promoted.
Here is the list of 20 officers according to the notification:
1. Paban Kumar Borthakur, IAS (RR-1989), Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Transformation & Development and Cultural Affairs Department is also posted as Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Tourism Department as additional charge.
