A total of 200 beds ready out of the proposed 1,000-bed hospital set up by the Steel plant at Gurajada Kalakshetram in Visakhapatnam.

‘Immediately recruit doctors and staff for the facility’
Members of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) have urged the district administration to takeover the 1,000-bed hospital that was readied by the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant(VSP) with immediate effect and declare it as a COVID hospital.
CITU State president Ch. Narasinga Rao said that based on the directive of the Ministry of Steel, the VSP has built the makeshift hospital at Gurajada Kalakshetram on a war-footing and about 200 beds with oxygen supply is already ready for takeover. ....

Eastern Naval Command to Maintain Oxygen Plants in Govt Hospitals Across AP

Vishakapatnam: Eastern Naval Command will operate and maintain oxygen plants in all government and teaching hospitals across the state. It will take the responsibility of fixing leakages in oxygen plants, condition of plants and precautions to be taken in the plants. Four special teams were formed and each team has management responsibilities in three to four districts. Arrangements are made to airlift these teams to the required locations if necessary. These teams will fix problems in the supply of oxygen and solve other problems.
The Navy has agreed to extend its support to the state government in rectifying technical errors in Oxygen plants. The Navy has agreed to transport 25 cryogenic oxygen cylinders, which are coming to the state from Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. The Navy officials have approved to provide special vehicles for transportation of liquid ....

VIJAYAWADA: The State government has roped in the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), to strengthen oxygen supply network.As per the directive of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Principal Secretary (Transport) MT Krishna Babu on Saturday held talks with the ENC and RINL officials to overcome the shortage of oxygen.
