Covid-19: 108 +ve, four teachers among infected in Ludhiana district

6933 Our Correspondent Ludhiana, March 7 A total of 108 persons from this district and 31 from other districts tested positive for Covid today, taking the total number of active cases in the district to 27,940. Meanwhile, the number of active cases has gone up to 839 (+108). Among those testing positive were four teachers of government schools (two from Koom Kalan and one each from Mullanpur and Sahnewal). One patient from Moga succumbed to the virus, but the number of deaths in the district remained at 1,036. Among those testing positive today 13 were in contact with infected persons, 30 from OPDs, 38 from flu corner (ILI), 16 (tracing in process), two health workers and one AMC.

Ludhiana: As many as 108 residents tested positive for Covid-19 in Ludhiana on Sunday. They included four teachers and as many students. A patient from Moga succumbed to the virus at a hospital here, according to the local media bulletin. Civil surgeon Dr Sukhjivan Kakkar said with no death from Ludhiana, the district toll tally stood at 1,036 and that of outsiders has climbed to 516. To date, 6,92,827 persons have been tested. Of the 108 news cases, 38 were from flu corner, 30 from OPD, 13 contacts of positive patients, 16 through tracing process, two health-care workers, one auxiliary nurse midwife. Besides, four teachers (two of a government school in Koom Kalan and one each from government schools in Mullanpur and Sahnewal) and four students (three of a government school in Sahnewal and one of a Saleem Tabri school) have caught the virus. Also, 31 patients from outside Ludhiana tested positive here.

English language labs in 25 govt primary schools | Ludhiana News

Director-general, school education office has issued a grant worth Rs 2,17,500 and instructions to 25 shortlisted primary schools with regard to the establishment of language listening labs, as part of smart school development project. Each school has to amplifier, 32GB pendrive and 20 headphones, worth Rs 8,700. It has been told that earphones should be avoided as they can cause infection and a two feet distance between two headphones is required. The data will be stored in pen drive that can be further connected with blue tooth or aux cable and the teachers can record and play in their own voice and students can listen to the audio and narrate the same to teachers.
