BRIDGEPORT Paier College has found a new home on the University of Bridgeport’s campus.
Paier announced on Monday it will relocate to Bridgeport in time for the fall semester. The school has also changed its name from Paier College of Art to Paier College, officials said, to reflect an expansion of degree offerings.
The move marks the latest development in Paier’s acquisition of struggling UB art programs in a joint deal forged this summer alongside Goodwin University.
“As we spent more time in Bridgeport and around the campus,” said Joe Bierbaum, the president of Paier College, “we just fell in love with the area and said ‘this can be the next refrain of the school.’” ....

Tributes paid to former chairman of Frome Festival Bob Morris

TRIBUTES have been paid to the former chairman of the Frome Festival.
Dr Robert (Bob) Morris, who sadly passed away a few weeks ago, became chair of the festival in 2005.
Martin Dimery, the event s creative director, said Mr Morris was a man of great loyalty, decency and trust .
He was totally diligent and supportive of the staff, board and volunteers of the Frome Festival as Chairman, and a pleasure to work with, added Mr Dimery.
Bob became a close personal friend. I shall profoundly miss his wit, charm and tremendous intellect.
Mr Morris succeeded Dennis Buffrey as chair, describing him as a “hard act to follow,” but then made the role his own over the next 15 years. ....
