Wyoming Woman Gets Prison For False Sexual Assault Claim A 36-year-old Lander woman has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for falsely accusing a man of sexually assaulting her, according to the Wyoming U.S. Attorney s Office. According to the release, Rachel Myla Stagner pled guilty in January to falsely accusing a man identified in the release only as a white male of sexually assaulting her on the Wind River Indian Reservation. According to the release, Stagner continued to make false allegations as the case was investigated as part of an effort to extort money from the man. Because of the fact that the alleged crime happened on the reservation, the FBI has jurisdiction and handled the investigation.

Acting United States Attorney for the District of Wyoming Bob Murray, announced Monday that 36-year-old Rachael Stagner of Lander was sentenced in U.S. District Court by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson. Stagner was sentenced to 21 months of imprisonment for making false accusations of sexual assault. According to the Department of Justice, Stagner was indicted on September 16, 2020 for making false accusations that she was sexually assaulted by a white male on the Wind River Indian Reservation. She pled guilty to the charge on January 4 of this year. Stagner’s accusations initiated an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Because the alleged crime happened on the Wind River Indian Reservation, the FBI has jurisdiction. During the course of the investigation, Stagner continued with her false allegations in an effort to extort money from the victim.

Repeat Violent Offender Sentenced for Assaulting Correctional Officers – Sheridan Media

Acting United States Attorney for the District of Wyoming Bob Murray announced Monday that 26-year-old Benjamin Delany of Cheyenne was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson for assaulting a correctional officer at the Platte County Detention Facility and for assaulting a correctional officer at the Scotts Bluff Detention Center in Gering, Nebraska.  The government argued for an upward variance and requested a sentence of 54 months in prison. The court denied that request and sentenced Delany to 30 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release on both counts, to run concurrently. In January of 2020, Delany was sentenced for assault with a dangerous weapon on a federal employee for his attack with a baseball bat at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center. For that offense, he received 42 months of imprisonment, to be followed by 4 years of supervised release. The court granted the government’s request that this 42-month sentence run consecutively
