SCGM Bhd told the local bourse that its subsidiary, Lee Soon Seng Plastic Industries Sdn Bhd, received notification on Jan 16 that two of its production floor workers tested positive for Covid-19 during a routine test. This has led to the screening of all its employees. Following the notification, the group has taken measures to provide segregated hostel accommodations for Covid-19 positive workers to mitigate the spread of the virus, enforced mandatory quarantine of employees listed as close contacts and carried out sanitisation of all of its premises. ....
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 18): Twenty-two Covid-19 cases have been found among migrant worker tenants staying at AME Elite Consortium Bhd’s worker dormitories in Kulai and Senai, Johor. In a bourse filing, the group announced that its subsidiary I Stay Management Sdn Bhd had detected 20 positive Covid-19 cases from its foreign worker tenants residing at the i-Stay @ Indahpura dormitory and two cases at the i-Stay @ Senai Airport City workers dormitory as at noon today. AME Elite said it has carried out contact tracing and facilitated immediate swab tests for those who had close contact with the affected foreign workers. It said these close contacts are currently undergoing quarantine at the designated quarantine centre for 14 days while awaiting their test results. ....

The United States has banned imports of palm oil from Malaysian producer Sime Darby Plantation Bhd over allegations of forced labour in the production process, according to the US Customs and Border Protection. The agency said it has issued a withhold release order , which will allow it to detain shipments based on suspicion of forced labour involvement under long-standing US laws aimed at combating human trafficking, child labour and other human rights abuses. ....
KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): Integrated industrial space solutions provider AME Elite Consortium Bhd is aiming to generate more than RM1.5 billion in gross development value (GDV) through its 169.8-acre land acquisitions in the Southern Industrial and Logistics Clusters (SiLC) in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru. In a bourse filing today, AME Elite said its units Pentagon Land Sdn Bhd and Greenhill SILC Sdn Bhd had entered into two sales and purchase agreements with UEM Land Bhd and Nusajaya Heights Sdn Bhd, both wholly-owned subsidiaries of UEM Sunrise Bhd. The total purchase consideration of the proposed land acquisitions amount to RM434.3 million. The new lands are located near AME Elite’s i-Park @ SiLC industrial park, which was completed in 2013, and approximately 30 minutes from its ongoing integrated industrial park developments, namely i-Park @ Indahpura and i-Park @ Senai Airport City. ....
