No. 4 Vacherot Knocks Off Strom

ORLANDO, Fl. - Gustaf Strom fell to fourth-seeded Val Vacherot in three sets in the first round of the NCAA Singles Tournament.
Strom started the match hot with a 6-2 first set victory. The freshman continued to push the momentum until he was up 5-2 in the second set. Vacherot then fought his way through three match points to win the second set with a 7-5 score. The Texas A&M senior finished the match in the third set to win the match with a 6-3 score. ....

Gustaf Strom Faces No. 4 Vacherot in First Round

ORLANDO, Fl. – No. 45 Gustaf Strom will represent Arizona in the NCAA Singles Championship in the first round against the fourth-seeded Valentin Vacherot from Texas A&M University. 
Strom made an immediate impact at Arizona as a freshman while never playing below court three. Currently tied for third in program history for singles wins in a spring season with 18, Strom looks to tie teammate Filip Malbasic who holds the record. Strom also earned five ranked wins throughout the season including a win over No. 14 Riley Smith.
The freshman won numerous awards in his first season as a Wildcat. After helping the team reach their first third round bid in the NCAA Tournament, Strom was named Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year as well as First Team All-Conference. ....

Daily Trojan | USC clinches second straight Pac-12 title against ASU

USC successfully began their postseason in San Diego at the Barnes Tennis Center by winning the Pac-12 Team Tournament over the weekend. 
The No. 13 USC Men’s Tennis team earned their fifth Pac-12 tournament title in program history, their first since 2019. Because of the pandemic and the subsequent cancellation of last year’s tournament, this weekend’s victory essentially meant back-to-back conference titles for the Trojans. 
USC was the third seed in the tournament and kicked things off by playing against the sixth-seed Oregon Ducks. The Trojans previously played the Ducks on April 3 when they easily won 5-2. Similar to this previous matchup, USC was able to beat Oregon once again in the quarterfinals with a 4-1 victory.  ....
