Arif Nizami
LAHORE: Senior journalist and analyst Arif Nizami passed away here on Wednesday after remaining hospitalised for around two weeks. He was laid to rest at Miani Sahib Graveyard in the evening.
Mr Nizami had suffered a heart attack and was under treatment at a private hospital, but could not survive. He has left behind his wife and sons Ali, Asad and Yousaf.
Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, PTI leader Jehangir Tareen, PML-N’s Khwaja Saad Rafique and a large number of journalists attended the funeral.
Son of Hameed Nizami, the founder of Nawa-i-Waqt media group, Arif Nizami was born in October 1948 and served as the editor of English daily The Nation for around two decades.
NA opposition stages walkout as govt refuses to postpone exams

ISLAMABAD: The quorum syndrome continued to hit the proceedings of the National Assembly on Friday after the opposition parties staged a walkout while expressing dissatisfaction over the reply of the parliamentary secretary to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training for not agreeing with their suggestion to delay the board exams.
Following the walkout, PMLN legislator Sheikh Fayazuddin pointed out the quorum and after the count was made, Speaker Asad Qaisar adjourned the house till Monday.
Earlier, raising the issue of delay in the board exams, PMLN legislator Khwaja Saad Rafique said the issue to delay the board exams was raised on Thursday and the speaker had directed arranging a meeting with the Education minister.
