Bauer is putting Simon Mayo’s new Greatest Hits Radio Drivetime show on-air in Wales. GHR South Wales, which is broadcast on AM/DAB in Swansea with added DAB in Cardiff, currently provides programmes from Wales between 6am and midnight each weekday. In order to accommodate Simon Mayo’s network show from March 15th, the station is adjusting its weekday showtimes to bring them in line with the rest of the network. Phil Hoyle’s mid-morning show will change to 10am-1pm, while Dave Brooks’ afternoon programme will shift to 1-4pm. Speaking about the changes, Group Programme Director for the Hits Radio Brand Network Gary Stein told RadioToday: “As we edge closer to the launch of our exciting new drivetime show, it made total sense to extend the broadcast into South Wales where Simon Mayo has a legion of loyal listeners. ....
Simon Mayo is returning to Drivetime radio The 62-year-old radio presenter has confirmed he is moving to the coveted slot on Greatest Hits Radio from March 15 after eight years in the Drivetime slot on BBC Radio 2 until 2018 4 February 2021 He said: Returning to Drivetime is so very exciting for me. Itâs a show I loved so much and now on Greatest Hits Radio we intend to make it even better. And with Matt Williams back on sport, we canât wait to get started. Bay Broadcasting has hired Dave Kelly and Liam Thompson as Group Programme Consultants. Dave Kelly was Group Programme Director of FM104 and Q102 for almost twenty years, whilst Liam Thompson has been Group Programme Director of Communicorp and PD of Magic London and launch director of Virgin Radio in the UK. Liam also worked as a Consultant for Cork’s 96FM and C103 in 2017. As consultants, they will work with Bay Broadcasting’s Radio Nova and Classic Hits, implementing a joint strategy for the stations to develop the two brands into the future and capitalise on opportunities Bay sees in the Irish radio market currently. ....
JACK Radio Group hires former Global exec Dick Stone Former Global Radio executive Dick Stone has been appointed to the role of Group Content Manager at JACK Radio Group. He’ll be responsible for the output across the Group’s three national and three regional radio stations. At Global, Dick was over all on-air output, branding, coaching and development of Global’s stations in Nottingham, Birmingham, Warwickshire, Bristol and Cardiff. Before this, he was Group Programme Director looking after Smooth, whilst other positions for Dick have included Regional Group Programme Director for the Smooth Radio Network, as well as Managing Editor of Capital East Midlands, Programme Director of Trent FM and Hit Music Network, and also for stations in GWR Group/GCap Media plc’s The One Network. ....
