An alleged high-ranking member of the Continuity IRA (CIRA) has appeared in court following the recovery of a firearm believed to be connected to shots fired at Enniskillen PSNI Station on March 17. The arrest occurred in the course of an investigation sparked by sinister calls to media outlets using a recognised code word. Gabriel Paul Meehan (42) from Pound Street, Irvinestown is charged with having a shotgun, and ammunition, two mobile phones, and details of a vehicle belonging to a member of the security forces. A detective chief inspector told Strabane Magistrates Court the charges, which allegedly occurred between March and May could be connected. ....
police A 29-YEAR-OLD man charged with a number of driving offences has entered guilty pleas at Enniskillen Magistrates Court. Jason McQuillan, with an address of Clones Road, Magheraveely, Newtownbutler, was charged with driving when unfit through drink/drugs, driving without due care and attention, having a defective tyre, and possession of a Class-B drug, namely cannabis. McQuillan entered the guilty pleas to these charges, which relate to an incident which took place within the vicinity of Main Street, Lisnaskea, on March 10, 2019. He was also facing a charge of being in charge when unfit through drink or drugs, which was withdrawn. ....
