Fireworks burst over the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Ice Palace Saturday, Feb. 6.
(Enterprise photo â Lou Reuter) SARANAC LAKE A former Wall Street executive and his wife have donated $20,000 to the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Committee to launch what the committee is calling a Mobile Museum. “The museum will feature exhibits, artifacts and mementos regaling gala parades, elaborate floats, costumes, and sporting events,” the committee said in a press release Saturday. “The incredible ice fortresses of the past, as well as the modern-day process of building the present-day ‘people’s palace’ and highlights from more recent decades of family fun will all be celebrated. Exhibits will be rotated regularly so that each visit will bring a new and fresh experience and hopefully generate some additional revenue for village businesses throughout the year.”
Mar 3, 2021 SARANAC LAKE the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce has added Sadie Posdzich to its staff as membership and engagement coordinator. In that role she will help communicate all that is happening at the chamber to members and the community, and assist at the Saranac Lake Welcome Center. Posdzich was born and raised in Saranac Lake, graduated from Saranac Lake High School, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from the College of Saint Rose in Albany. She then moved back to the Adirondacks, where she currently serves on the Saranac Lake Arts and Cultural Advisory Board and the Winter Carnival Committee, choreographing the dance for the Carnival pages each year. Most recently she has worked at the Lake Placid Sinfonietta as marketing director.

Though the COVID-19 pandemic hampered many Carnival traditions and events this year, Saranac Lakers found a way to celebrate virtually, in real life and in alternative ways.
