RICHMOND â Gov. Andy Beshear joined the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT) at the first in-person basic training academy graduation ceremony since the onset of the nationwide COVID-19 pandemic.
The Governor recognized the twenty-eight law enforcement officers from 19 agencies across the commonwealth who completed law enforcement basic training and showed support of the essential and life-saving work they will do in the communities they serve.
âAs your Governor, I am honored to have each of you serving and protecting all Kentuckians,â Gov. Beshear said to the recruits during the graduation ceremony. âThank you, only a select few among us are called to serve the Commonwealth of Kentucky in this role, and I am grateful to have each and every one of you on Team Kentucky.â
Woman breaks into New Albany business, steals company vehicle
A woman broke into a New Albany business and stayed several hours before stealing the company van and leaving.

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) - When Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. Owner Magen Bynum arrived to her shop this morning, things were scattered everywhere. Thankfully, a security camera allowed her to see who made the mess.
Camera footage showed 19-year-old Eden Dye changing clothes, writing on the company’s white board and eventually stealing the keys to the company s van.
Police said 19-year-old Eden Dye broke into Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. early Thursday morning.

According to a news release from the KSP, on Friday, March 5, 2021 Kentucky State Police, Post 8, Morehead was notified of an injury collision on Interstate 64 at the 123 mile marker in Bath Co at approximately 1:14 PM. Post 8 was advised that a commercial vehicle had overturned onto the westbound shoulder. Through the investigation, it was determined that Cartell McLendon, 29 years of age, of Soperton, Georgia was traveling east on I-64 operating a 2018 Kenworth commercial vehicle. Mr. McLendon traveled through the median and both westbound lanes and struck an earth embankment. After striking the embankment, the commercial vehicle overturned coming to rest on the westbound shoulder. Mr. McLendon received fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by Bath County Coroner Andrew Owens.
