Wednesday, June 9, 2021 - 3:27 pm CANTON Patricia Ruth Mustakangas, 71, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021, at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse, NY after several years of debilitating health issues. Patti was born March 17, 1950, in Fitchburg, MA, the daughter of Ellen (Newcombe) and George Mustakangas, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her brother Harold Mustakangas and uncle Arthur Newcombe. Patti was a graduate of Fitchburg High School, Fitchburg, MA, Class of 1968 and Colby College, Waterville, ME, Class of 1972. In the mid-1970’s Pat moved with her former husband, Byron Whitney, to New York, where she remained in the Potsdam/Canton, NY area. ....
ISLAMABAD: The pandemic on Wednesday claimed another nine lives in the twin cities as the capital reported five and Rawalpindi four deaths. However, positive cases in both the cities kept declining as Islamabad saw 204 cases and the Rawalpindi district 112. Officials of the capital administration said out of the total 909 beds allocated for Covd patients in 16 hospitals in capital, 452 beds have been occupied and the occupancy rate is 49.72pc. Similarly, out of total 128 ventilators allocated for the patients in 13 hospitals 58 are occupied, hence the occupancy rate is 45.31pc. Cases against eight medical stores owners referred to Drug Court National March 8, 2021 FAISALABAD: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Ali Sunday chaired the meeting of District Quality Control Board and reviewed medical stores’ inspection reports of drug inspectors. The meeting examined 30 cases that were constituted against owners of medical stores over violations of Drug Act. The meeting decided to refer cases against eight medical store owners to the Drug Court and register cases against the owner of three medical stores. Moreover, owners of some medical stores were given warnings and 11 cases were adjourned till next meeting. The DC also reviewed the performance of the drug inspectors and directed them for accelerating the drive against sale and manufacturing of spurious drugs. 142,873 kids vaccinated on 9th day of typhoid vaccination campaign National February 13, 2021 FAISALABAD: As many as 142,873 children vaccinated on the ninth day of ongoing typhoid vaccination campaign in the urban areas of the district. It was told during the daily review meeting for typhoid vaccination campaign chaired by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali. ADCG Khurram Pervaiz, Health CEO Dr Mushtaq Sipra, District Health Officer Dr Bilal Ahmed, UNICEF representative Habib Leghari and other officials of the Health Department were also present. The meeting was informed that total 1,375,582 children had been vaccinated so far in the campaign.
