ONE of the most popular spectacles of spring is open again on the North York Moors but appeals are being made to visitors to abide by the pandemic guidelines and even more importantly keep to the daff path. The Daffodils of Farndale is one of the most short lived but best loved visitor sites in the national park. Last spring the trail and car parks were closed as the pandemic took hold. With the latest relaxation of restrictions they ve been open just as the daffodils come into full bloom. The National Park Authority say they can once again welcome people to experience its cherished landscapes but they re reminding people to act responsibly and with consideration for the wildlife and local communities. ....

But that’s exactly what happened to Alabama’s Roscoe Hall on the Season 18 premiere of “Top Chef.” Hall, a Birmingham resident and the culinary director for Post Office Pies, was one of 15 chefs featured on Thursday’s episode of the Bravo series. That makes him part of a prestigious crew, chosen to display his skills and talents for a national audience and the show’s three primary judges: Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons. ....
A COMMUNITY campaigner has called on a bus operator to restore bus services to parts of Addingham. Caroline Whitaker, a Community Campaigner for the Green Party has been in contact with residents living in Low Mill, just outside of Addingham following the changes to the 62 bus operated by Transdev. Following timetable changes that will also mean the service will no longer travel on to Otley, residents have now discovered that the bus also by-passes the old Ilkley Road as it leaves Addingham. This has meant residents will now need to walk further to the bus stop if they want to catch the bus. ....
ASKRIGG parish council, which has been asked to nominate a trustee to serve on the board of the Low Mill Outdoor Education Centre, should look for somebody strong, outspoken, and probably female, members heard at their recent meeting. “There are no women at all on that board. It needs somebody local, somebody really strong who’s not afraid to speak their mind,” said Councillor Greta Kirkbride. Clerk to the council Karen Lynch said Low Mill had told the council it wanted to strengthen ties, and although the nominee need not be a council member, he or she would be a representative and report back to members.
