Introduction to Bee City USA
Committee members from Bee City USA (Salem) invite the community to join them at 2 p.m. Sunday at pavilion 8 in Waterworth Memorial Park. Learn what it means to be recognized as a Bee City USA community and what the committee has planned for 2021. There will be a discussion on the importance of pollinators to our local community and the surrounding area, identify many of these pollinators, and talk about how community members can help. Palestine sets hydrant maintenance
The East Palestine water department will begin flushing hydrants on Monday, May 10, and will continue throughout the week or until completed. Residents may experience low pressure/discolored water off and on through the week
Eagles to celebrate Cinco de Mayo
The East Palestine Eagles, 320 E. Taggart, will celebrate Cinco de Mayo on Wednesday, May 5 by having Mexican food specials only from 4:30 to 8 p.m. The specials: two hard or soft shell tacos for $3, chicken quesadilla for $6, steak quesadilla for $7, cheese quesadilla for $5, taco salad for $5 or $7, nacho supreme for $6, nacho and cheese for $4, side of spanish rise for $1.50, sopapilla cheesecake bar for $3, and 6 to 8 oz margarita for $5. Banquet in Salem to feature fried chicken
Darin Odey USA Equipment Solutions will sponsor the drive-thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone (no later than 7 p.m.) Thursday at the Salem Memorial Building. Meals are limited to one occupant per vehicle and include fried chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and pudding. Do not park in library lot. Alleys in Monroeville targeted
Brush Creek Township trustees invite the residents from the Monroeville area to attend the April 14 meeting. This will be the opportunity for questions and answers regarding the closing of several alleys in this area. Residents will be given the chance to voice their opinions and sign the petition for the county commissioners to complete the process. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the senior center.
Corn beef and cabbage for St. Pat’s
The East Palestine Eagles, 320 E. Taggart, are still taking orders for their St. Patrick’s Day Irish drive-thru dinner on Wednesday. Times are 4-6 p.m. or sold out. The dinner consists of corn beef, cabbage and potatoes, roll and dessert for $8 or a reuben sandwich and bag of chips for $7. To guarantee a dinner/meal, call 330-853-8483 as soon as possible.
Crestview will stage ‘Sister Act’
COLUMBIANA– The Crestview theater program will present “Sister Act” March 19-21 in the Performing Arts Center. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $12 and can be reserved at www.crestviewrebels.org. Presale ticketing ends at midnight March 18. In-person ticket sales are 5-7 p.m. March 1-7 at the PAC. Reserve tickets may also be picked up and paid for at these times. All health and safety guidelines will be followed.
Salem cemetery notice
