Culvert replacement work is scheduled next week on Emerick Road in Franklin Township, the county engineer’s office reported. The work is scheduled between Fink Road (TR-844) south to the intersection with Acker Road (TR-845) and Smith Road (TR-751). The road will be closed to traffic but open to local residents only Monday through Friday.

Palestine sets hydrant maintenance
The East Palestine water department will begin flushing hydrants on Monday, May 10, and will continue throughout the week or until completed. Residents may experience low pressure/discolored water off and on through the week

LISBON Gary Joiner, the man accused in the shooting death of Ryan Virden in a Homeworth Road home last week, was bound over to the grand jury following a preliminary hearing in county Municipal Court on Thursday.
Joiner, 42, Fink Road, Kensington, is charged with murder, an unclassified felony, and faces 15 years to life in prison if convicted.
