BRANFORD Police investigated a package at the Branhaven Plaza Monday and determined it was nothing criminal, according to the department.
Officials posted on Facebook that “a large police and fire personnel presence” had responded to the plaza to investigate “a suspicious package” soon before 11:30 a.m., potentially affecting traffic.
The investigation had wrapped up by 12:30 p.m., police said in a subsequent post. The package had been examined; investigators found “no indication of criminal activity.”
“Thank you to the concerned citizen who reported this package and for the quick response by all involved to obtain a safe conclusion. We appreciate your patience with the backed up traffic in the area of West Main Street and Short Beach Road,” police said. ....
