Walking along Belfast’s peace lines, Mark Ervine came to a sudden halt, pointed to the wall and warned: “It should be clear that we are now going into enemy territory; it’s dangerous for me, so there’s a need to be very careful”.

Call for information about Gerard Davison shooting to be given to solicitor

A solicitor acting for the family of murdered republican Gerard Jock Davison has called for any members of the public who have information about the killing to contact him.
Mr Davison was shot dead as he walked to work through the Markets area of south Belfast in May 2015.
The circumstances of his murder were shrouded in controversy after Belfast man Kevin McGuigan (53) was also shot dead outside his Short Strand home in August 2015.
Also a former IRA man, at one time he and Mr Davison had been close allies. ....
