HARKER HEIGHTS â The Harker Heights City Council Tuesday gathered for a 9 a.m. tour of the Waste Water Treatment Plant at 430 Pecan Drive, just north of the cityâs soccer complex. Mark Hyde, the director of plant services, led the tour accompanied by Billy Cude, the chief plant operator of the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Before leading the council through the maze of pipes and large pools, Hyde stood before a map of the property and explained that the operation consists of two plants working together as one. Plant B began operation in the early 1970s and was modified over the years treating 1.5 million gallons per day. ....

AN escape artist rabbit got trapped in a van dashboard and needed rescuing by the RSPCA and fire service. The pet rabbit got stuck in a van dashboard after escaping from her hutch during a journey to be re-homed. She was on her way home with new owner Mark Hyde when he had to brake suddenly and her hutch door flew open. She ran to the floor on the driver s side of the automatic vehicle and shot up a hole where the clutch would normally be. Mark, 51, who lives at Cockret Road, in Selby, realised she had made her way into the dashboard area of the car but was unable to free her so called the RSPCA for help on Monday evening (June 7). ....
Firefighters and the RSPCA were called out to rescue a rabbit which had got stuck behind the dashboard of a van. The animal escaped from her hutch while she was being driven to her new home and ran to hide in a hole in the carpet where the automatic van’s clutch would be. Owner Mark Hyde, 51, from Selby, North Yorkshire, called the RSPCA for help on Monday night. Inspector Claire Mitchell could feel the rabbit was out of reach and left food in the hope of enticing her out. But the escape artist was still stuck on Tuesday morning, so rescue officer Leanne Honess-Heather was sent to the scene and called for help from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. ....
