The Johnson County Rural Healthcare District Board met this week, and one topic on their agenda was the medical director’s contract. The district currently has a verbal agreement with Dr. Mark Schueler for those services, but the district’s auditors recommended the board have a written agreement moving forward. Negotiations are ongoing between the district’s attorney and Dr. Schueler to come to an agreement on duties, pay scale, insurance responsibility and other factors. Board Chair Marilyn Connolly said she thought it was necessary to have an agreement with the medical director. Dr. Schueler, as the Medical Director, certifies that EMT’s are properly trained, acts as an advocate and liaison between the ambulance service and the Wyoming Office of EMS, and approves protocols for the service. ....
